Yes, you can… make this super easy Miso Glazed Salmon! Just marinate and broil in the oven! It’s a quick dinner the entire family will love!
Look at the glaze on this salmon! It only takes 10 minutes to cook!
This Miso Glazed Salmon starts with a beautiful piece of fish (I prefer Atlantic salmon because of its fatty texture) from your fishmonger or the fish market at your local grocery store. Whole Foods always has the best Atlantic salmon, which is actually Norwegian salmon. The fish will literally melt in your mouth!
What’s in the marinade?
Whisk together these simple ingredients for the perfect marinade that’s sweet and salty and full of deliciousness in every bite! It’s that simple!.
- Miso paste (fermented soy bean paste)
- Soy sauce
- Mirin
- Rice vinegar
- Sesame oil
- Fresh ginger
- Green onions
Marinate the salmon in a plastic sealable bag for 30 minutes in the fridge. It soaks up all of the delicious flavors of the miso marinade!
How to make Miso Glazed Salmon:
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, mirin, sesame oil, ginger, pepper, and green onions until well combined. Place the salmon filet into a sealable plastic bag and pour the marinade over the salmon. Marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Heat the oven on the broil setting. Place the salmon on a foil-lined baking tray. Place on a high rack in the oven. Broil the salmon for approximately 10 minutes, or until fork-tender. Watch carefully not to let the salmon burn! Garnish salmon with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Serve with a side of sticky rice, or our Baby Bok Choy with Ginger and Garlic.
This Baby Bok Choy with Ginger and Garlic makes the perfect side dish for this Miso Glazed Salmon!
How gorgeous and healthy is this dish? Treat your family to a fantastic meal that will be on repeat for years to come!
TIPS & TRICKS:
- I prefer the Atlantic (Norwegian) salmon, but you can definitely use wild salmon with this recipe.
- You can also grill the salmon on high heat on a grill pan, or on an outdoor grill for 3 to 4 minutes each side. Just watch it carefully to make sure it doesn’t burn!
- Any rice would be a great side dish with this. Fried rice would be fantastic!
- Make extra marinade to heat and drizzle on top before serving.

What temperature is the oven meant to be put on for broiling the salmon?
Hi! You need to set the oven on broil. Let me know if you have any other questions.
This was delicious, thank you!
So glad you liked this, Tiffany! This salmon recipe is my go-to. It’s so easy and tasty!
You have rice vinegar in the recipe but not in the instructions on what to do with it! I assume it’s for the marinade
Thanks for catching that! Yes, the mirin is for the marinade. I’ve fixed it in the recipe card. Hope you enjoy the salmon!
What is the amount of soy sauce to put in the recipe? I think it is not listed in the ingredients, but you mention it in the instructions for the recipe.
Thanks for catching that! 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce is what’s needed. Fixing this post now!
