Halloween is truly my favorite holiday! I'm not creepy or anything, I just love being in costume and making scary foods! So, here's an appetizer that will make you say, "Awww, aren't these the cutest?" These Jalapeño Popper Mummies are the perfect Halloween treat!

Halloween Jalapeño Poppers decorated like Mummies on a black plate

These little cuties will be the hit of your Halloween party! They're so easy to make. Of course, crescent roll dough tastes good wrapped around just about anything, but the jalapeño popper is just so darn good wrapped in the dough, buttery and savory!

Halloween Jalapeño Poppers decorated like Mummies on a black plate with a skeleton laying beside it.

"Say hello to my little friends," said Mr. Skeleton! I had fun with Mr. Skeleton during this shoot, until the plate crashed to the ground (😂). It's all his fault.

How to make Jalapeño Popper Mummies:

    1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    2. In a medium mixing bowl, mix together the cheeses, green onions, and salt. Set aside.
    3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and pull apart into four rectangles. Pinch the diagonal perforation together and press lightly to make smooth. Cut each rectangle into thin strips using a pizza cutter.
    4. Wrap two pieces of dough around each stuffed pepper, leaving room for the eyes. Place the wrapped peppers about two inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
    5. Brush each popper with the egg wash and bake until golden and puffed, about 10 to 13 minutes. Do not let it get too brown!
    6. Press the candy eyeballs into the poppers towards the upper stem. Serve while warm.

Using rubber gloves while slicing the jalapeño peppers is wise! If you accidentally rub your eyes you might regret it!

I used a cheese grater for the jack cheese, making sure the cheese was still cold from the fridge.

Stuff each pepper with the cheese mixture. Try to make it flat against the jalapeño pepper, not rounded.

Using a pizza cutter will make your life so much easier when you're slicing the Pillsbury crescent roll dough!

The egg wash gives these Jalapeño Popper Mummies the perfect golden crust!
