Time for this refreshing Blood Orange Ginger Cocktail! This vibrant, tangy, citrus cocktail features vodka as the base, blood orange juice, a splash of ginger juice, and sparkling citrus water. Cheers!

  • Yield: 1 cocktail 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • Ice cubes
  • 3 ounces vodka (or gin)
  • 3 ounces freshly squeezed blood orange juice
  • 1 ounce ginger juice
  • Splash of citrus-flavored sparkling water (lemon or lime)
  • Slices of blood orange wheels
  • Fresh mint sprigs

Instructions

  1. Place the ice cubes at the bottom of an 8-ounce cocktail glass
  2. Pour in the vodka, blood orange juice, and ginger juice. Top off with sparkling water.
  3. Garnish with blood orange wheels and mint sprigs.

Notes

  • You can switch up this cocktail with gin instead of vodka if you'd like. Or, make it a virgin cocktail and leave out the alcohol!
  • I'm not into real sweet cocktails, but if you want it sweeter simply add a dash of simple syrup to your liking. Another way to sweeten this cocktail without the added sugar is to add in some regular orange juice.
  • To store whole blood oranges, you can leave them on the counter for up to four days or put them in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.  Orange segments and halves can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days.
  • Blood oranges ferment quickly, so they should be used the same day they're juiced.
  • Drink responsibly. If you are under the legal drinking age limit for your state or country, this recipe is not for you. Sorry!
